Between 17 and 21 of June 2018 the 18th European Weed Research Society Symposium took place at GR-Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. The symposium was organized by the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia (AIS) under the auspices of the European Weed Research Society.

 

Slovenia hosted the EWRS symposium for the first time and welcomed 263 participants from 40 countries.
240 scientific abstracts, of which 76 oral presentations were included in the symposium programme. The programme was divided into 13 sessions, 12 working group meetings, poster section and pre-symposium workshop. In addition to a rich educational programme, there were also interesting excursions around Slovenia, followed by the Symposium dinner at Ljubljana Castle.

The symposium was organised in the collaboration with local partners, Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry and Food, Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, City of Ljubljana, Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection, Biotechnical Faculty of University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences of University of Maribor, Plant Protection Society of Slovenia and Agricultural Institute of Slovenia.

  • 17 July 2017 –  Abstract submission opens
  • 1 September 2017 – Registration opens
  • 1 October 2017 – Second circular issued and circulate
  • 30 November 2017 – Abstract submission closed
  • 8-9 December 2017 – SCICOM, LOCOM, PROCOM committees meet in Ljubljana
  • 31 January 2018 – Authors notification of abstract acceptance / required corrections
  • 16 March 2018 – Deadline for submission of revised (final) abstract
  • 1 April 2018 – Final notification of abstract acceptance
  • 15 April 2018 – Early Registration Fee deadline

 

  • Please note: abstracts that have been submitted from 1 December till 31 January can only be accepted for poster presentation. Authors will be informed about acceptance by 16 February 2018.
